What is the YARTS Short-Range Transit Plan?
Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) is a year-round transit service that provides transportation to and from Yosemite National Park and gateway communities including Merced, Mariposa, Tuolumne, Mono, Madera, and Fresno counties. YARTS is creating a short-range plan to improve transit services in the Yosemite Area. This short-range plan will:
- Support the Agency's Mission to offer safe, convenient, and cost-effective transit in Yosemite, prioritizing reliability, environmental friendliness, and accessibility.
- Guide implementation of supporting related planning documents including the 2021 Strategic Plan and Zero-Emissions Bus (ZEB) Plan.
- Address emerging challenges and opportunities related to funding, park visitation, and changing transit dynamics spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.
