The Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG) is leading the development of a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) for the cities of Atwater, Dos Palos, Gustine, Livingston, Los Banos, and Merced.

What is a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP)?

An LRSP provides a framework for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing roadway safety improvements on local roads. The LRSP development process and content are tailored to local issues and needs. The process results in a prioritized list of issues, risks, actions, and improvements that can be used to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on local roads. The LRSP can act as a blueprint for improving safety going forward, and also positions the region for success in securing competitive Federal and state funding.

Read the Plan!

The Final LRSP is now available. It incorporates comments received on the draft version during public review and comment, which lasted from 8/15/2024 through 9/15/2024.

The LRSP is divided into two volumes - Volume I contains the plan vision and regional strategies, while Volume II contains jurisdiction-specific information and crash data and analysis.
