Key Community Findings

In Round One (Fall/Winter 2025), we received a total of 47 survey responses and 117 map comments. We also facilitated listening sessions with community members as another way of getting community feedback. On the survey and in listening sessions, we asked for input about the five 4CP goals (safety, access, transit, climate, and placemaking), the primary improvements that people want to see, and the top corridors to prioritize for these improvements.

Below are the key findings from the community input we received:

  • Access and safety are the top two goals community members would like to see prioritized.
  • There is a need for safer, more accessible, and more comfortable walking and biking conditions –– especially across barriers like freeways and rail crossings.
  • There are concerns about speeding and roadway safety.
  • While not as frequent as the comments about access and safety, there was also feedback calling for faster and more reliable buses, protections against extreme heat and flooding, and improved street lighting.
  • Hesperian Boulevard, Castro Valley Boulevard, and Mission Boulevard came out as the top three corridors to focus on for improvements.
