Community-Based Transportation Plans (CBTPs) bring local residents, community organizations, and planning agencies together to improve mobility options for low-income communities. The goal of the CBTP is to produce a list of prioritized projects for implementation in the near, medium, and long term. Each plan includes:

  • List of community-identified transportation problems
  • Solutions to address these problems
  • Identification of possible funding sources
  • List of responsible parties to implement the plan (such as the city, SCTCA, etc.)
  • A final document describing the community engagement, identified solutions, and plans to meet transportation needs of the community in the future

How Can I Get Involved?

We’re planning a Transportation Resource Fair on Saturday, August 23rd at Taylor Mountain Elementary School to connect Santa Rosa community members with local transportation resources and gather final input for the South Santa Rosa Community-Based Transportation Plan (CBTP). The event will feature free food, giveaways, family-friendly activities, and information booths from local partners like Sonoma County Transit and Redwood Bikeshare. Community members are invited to stop by, learn about available services, and share their ideas to help improve walking, biking, and transit options in the area.

Can't attend the event? Provide feedback on the draft project list (shown below in the "Comment on the Draft Project List" section).
