Welcome

Kittitas County has drafted a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) for Snoqualmie Pass to improve transportation safety.

The CSAP process involved the following:

  • Engaging community members to understand safety concerns in Snoqualmie Pass.
  • Understanding needs and factors for both current and future road conditions, user safety, and recreation.
  • Prioritizing policies and projects to work towards improving safety and managing transportation and capacity.
The CSAP will serve as a foundation for securing funding and for implementing the projects, countermeasures, and policies identified in the plan.

Timeline

  • Timeline item 1 - complete

    Phase 1: Listening and Learning

Understanding that data often captures crash information once it is too late, we are reaching out to community members to learn from their anecdotes on near-miss locations, perceived safety, and ideas for improvement.

  • Timeline item 2 - complete

    Phase 2: Integrating Community Input

After reviewing the data, we will return to the community to share what we heard so far and what we learned.

  • Timeline item 3 - complete

    Phase 3: Project Prioritization

We will return to the community to share initial ideas for projects and prioritization based on the community’s priorities and updated from a safety lens.

  • Timeline item 4 - active
