The City of Auburn has received grant funding to create two plans, an Active Transportation Plan and a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. In partnership with the community, these plans will create a vision and strategy to improve safety and provide more opportunities for walking and biking in Auburn

What is an Active Transportation Plan?

A comprehensive vision for a network of trails, bike lanes, sidewalks, and other elements that connect people to where they need to go in and near Auburn by safe walking, bicycling, rolling by wheelchair, and scootering.

What is a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan?

A Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) is a plan for reducing and eliminating serious injury and fatal crashes for all roadway users.

What are the benefits of creating an ATP and a CSAP?

  • Reduced death and injury on Auburn's streets and roads
  • Safer, more inviting neighborhoods that encourage people to walk and bike and visit local destinations
  • Connecting families to schools, work, dining, and transit stops
  • Improving health and reduce diseases and obesity
  • Reducing air pollution
  • Saving money on gas and car maintenance
